Alex Yoxall Photography Review

Alex Yoxall wanted a minimal website that didn’t detract from his photography. The website needed to use his company colour scheme of greys with signature orange. The chosen design utilises a selection of photographs for the main body of the website with text on each page encapsulated in an opaque white background providing contrast on top of the photographs.

To prevent the website contact form from being spammed by automated bots we integrated reCaptcha which utilises a distorted visual image that cannot be interpreted by screen readers.

Another requirement for this website was to display multiple examples of work produced for previous clients while keeping within the fixed width and height design. To fulfil this requirement we used jQuery tabs that also had the additional benefit in that the page didn’t need to be reloaded each time a new selection of images was shown. Combined with jQuery sideshow, this provided a smooth transition from thumbnail to full size image. Using the jQuery framework for both functions ensured the minimal amount of scripting was used to keep the website optimised and loading times to a minimum.
