SaferFENCE

SaferFence is a website dedicated to safety fencing panels that are used on construction sites and events such as music festivals and concerts.  SaferFence is a patented no snag design that is free from sharp protrusions.  This design vastly reduces the possibility of injury for both operatives handling and erecting the fencing and public that might come in contact with it.  SaferFence is also fully compliant with HS(G) 151 and the proposed BSI standards.

SaferFENCE Review

SaferFence approached us in need of hosting for their website along with any assistance we could offer optimising it to perform better in search results. After reviewing the HTML coding created by the previous developer, we found it had not been built with search engines in mind. One of the main issues discovered was that JavaScript had been used but had not made to degrade gracefully; because of this a lot of the websites’ content was not visible to search engines. Inappropriate use of HTML tags to style content instead of structuring pages was also another mistake that needed to be addressed.

Rather than trying to resurrect the existing code, we agreed it would be quicker to rewrite the SaferFence website from scratch and make use of include files to reduce future maintenance. Using include files makes the website much easier to update as well as unifying its design and reducing browser loading times.
